My first birthday as a mom

Yesterday I celebrated my first birthday as a mom. Last year on my birthday i was around 9 weeks pregnant. You were the size of a grape inside my tummy. Look at you now! such a big girl. It was by far one of the best birthdays i've had! Because i got to spend it with you Baby G. We napped all day, visited my co-workers who all thought you were beautiful and finally your daddy took us to dinner. Being your mom is the best birthday gift i could ever ask for! I love you to the moon and back and more! 

Life as single parent (sort of)

The past 3 days your daddy went on a business trip. Which meant that I was left doing things on my own. I got a little dose of what life would be like as a single parent and let me tell you it's a hard job! From waking up earlier, to trying to get myself ready for work and you ready to drop you off at the babysitters. Trying to get out of the house on time was mission. It made me appreciate your dad a lot more and realize he is a BIG help!

Teething

You been teething for the last month or so and you stick EVERYTHING in your mouth and I do mean everything. Just check out the pics. I wish this would just pass already. I don't like seeing you so uncomfortable.

UPDATE: Your first pair of teeth have officially come out! i felt them yesterday 7/26/12. Afterwards i cried. I can't believe how fast things are happening. How fast you're growing up.....

Rooney

Before you came along there was Rooney. He was supposed to be our "practice" baby but we only had him 1 month before I found out I was expecting you. So much for practice lol Your daddy spoiled him rotten! He was the center of attention for 9 months.

When we first brought you home he seemed so sad. He slept all day and walked around the house with his tail between his legs. He started warming up to you after a few weeks. Once you arrived my attention was 100% on you and your dad tried to give him as much attention as he could manage but this weekend he decided that what was best for him was to be with a family that could focus on Rooney more than we could. We're going to miss him but he's in a happy home with space to run and be a happy puppy. Our little apartment didn't give him that freedom. Maybe in the future he can come back!

Milestone of the week: rolling over

This week Gianna has been rolling over from her back to her stomach a whole lot. More than usual! She normally rolls over with the help of her blanket. She grabs on to it and gets enough momentum to eventually turn on her tummy. But she's recently become a pro at just turning on her own without any help. This morning she surprised me though. She was laying in bed next to me and she rolled from her tummy to her back to her tummy again until she got to her dads side if the bed. AMAZING!!! Lol at least in my eyes it was. I can't believe how fast you're growing..... Sometimes I wish I could just stop time and keep you this little forever.

Daddy's girl

Let me start off by saying you're dad is absolutely in love with you!!! If he could keep you in a bubble and protect you from everything and anyone that could hurt you he would. I can assure you that he will love you better and longer than any boy ever will. He has big plans for you. He wants you to be a model, volleyball player, dancer, gymnist, swimmer, equestrian and wants you to attend Stanford University. I know, I know that's alot to ask for but don't worry, no pressure lol He looks at you hours on end and says to me "she's so pretty. I can't believe how pretty she is! look at her. She's so beautiful!" I hope that you and him develop a relationship as great as the one i have with my dad(your grandpa).

I hope your daddy reminds you every day how beautiful you are. I hope he makes you feel like the queen you are! I hope he spoils you but also teaches you how to work for the things you want! I hope he teaches you math (because that's not my strong point lol) I hope he teaches you how to fix a flat and change the oil in the car, how to ride a bike, how to throw a left hook (i might have to teach you that. you're dad's not much of a fighter lol) and i hope that one day when you're older you find a man that loves you almost as much as your dad. Trust me, you won't ever find a man that loves you more than him.

5 month mark

First blog post! don't know where to start so here it goes. i'll start with talking about the person i love most! My beautiful baby girl!

This past Sunday marked your 5 month birthday! I can't begin to tell you how in awe i am every time i look at you! you are the most perfect little girl i've ever seen in my life (maybe i'm just saying that because i'm your momma). You've reached many milestones in the past few weeks. you are starting to sit up on your own. You FINALLY discovered your fuchis (feet) and love sticking your little toes in your mouth. I love seeing you go to town on them lol it's the cutest thing ever! You also FINALLY took a bottle (FYI here's a little background on that; you have been refusing a bottle since you were 2 months old. It stressed mommy out so much when she had to return to work and you were on a bottle strike. But after 2 1/2 weeks you finally came to terms with it and started taking it). Your grandparents absolutely adore you! so much that at times it becomes a bit overwhelming for me but i know they want you around 24/7 because they love you so much and want to spend every minute of every day with you. Oh and they can't pronounce your name lol which I think is pretty funny.

I love waking up to your chubby gummy smile every morning! and seeing you little face before i go to bed. you are the best thing that ever happened to me! i love you FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER my sweet baby girl!!!
